  • Lake Simssee is the largest lake of the so-called "Rosenheim plate of lakes",  an end-moraine landscape where many little lakes give evidence of a primeval sea, that covered this area aeons ago. Lake Simssee is rather shallow and gets warm quickly in the summer and invites to bathing on some lidos all around the lake. The Huberhof is only 15 minutes walk from a nice little lido in Ecking. In quite a few winters it happens, that the lake freezes all over and provides a huge area for hockey, skating, cross-country skiing or just a walk across the lake.

  • A boat trip across Lake Chiemsee to the islands Herreninsel and Fraueninsel belongs to the must-do's at a sojorn in the region of Chiemgau. Whereas the Fraueninsel invites to a refreshing walk across the island and a stop at the "Inselwirt" to have freshly smoked trout and other fish from the Lake Chiemsee, a trip to the Herreninsel and a visit of the king's castle Herrenchiemsee would be the cultural highlight of your vacation trip.

  • The Kampenwand is the highest mountain top of the Chiemgau alps. Only 20 minutes driving distance from the Huberhof, you'll reach the base station of the Kampenwandbahn, a four-seat cable car that brings you up to the Kampenwandhaus on the west side of the distinct mountain top. In winter you'll find long and well prepared ski-runs all down to the base station - from spring to fall the mountain offers many various routes for mountain tours with fantastic views about the Chiemgau and the Tyrolian alps.
